I haven't found yet a nice and fast way to select UV shel borders but you could try this: Set Sync Method to "Components" in your Tex.Editor Prefs, Set Selection filter to Polygons and select your UV. It will select all Polygons that are using those UVs. Now you only have to convert that selection

yep Alan, not using simulated icetrees at all... but thanks for the reminder. my problem was updating a rotation value that is relative to a defined location on a pre-envelope state. So I had to multiply by the inverse first to get it in local space, then transforn back to world space to apply the

Setting "Show Keys" to "Keyable Parameters" on the time line will not display keys on proxy parameters even if those params are keyable. Setting it to "All (filters)" will hide custom parameters keys.

What happens if you change the near plane clipping to a smaller value in the camera properties panel? I think that way you can zoom in closer to an object/element than before. Although it still doesn't get rid of the limit, per se.
