Attachment please. :) I could take a wild guess: Particle´s shader on the cached sim was not written. I´ve also had troubles this week caching parameters with the cache manager. It was better way back on SI 2010, you´d had a list to cache. Eliminating the guess work. Then on 2011 part of the team w

its been a while but is it not a case of you have to render a motion vector framebuffer (set in the volume shader) and blur them in the post? On 24 April 2015 at 11:35, Andi Farhall wrote: > Hi chaps, > > it's been ages (years) since I've used mental ray, but I clearly remember > rendering ice pa

Actually MR always had issues with MB on particles. You can cache and load them (for MR to know next frame vector values), or generate a motion vector pass (see RRay for that) While with either Arnold, 3Delight, or Vray have no such issues with ICE volume particles(or otherwise), if it moves an

you might be a smarter cookie than I am (it’s likely even) – but as far as I know motion blur does NOT work on volumetric particles. What does work with the particle volume shader, is aligning the particles along their velocity, and making them soft streaks which is going to give you something v

I believe the solution to this is Deform>create>Subframe Deformation applied to the point cloud. This will give accurate and adjustable motion blur to your pointcloud. On Fri, Apr 24, 2015 at 6:35 AM, Andi Farhall wrote: > Hi chaps, > > it's been ages (years) since I've used mental ray, but I cl
