[speedtouch] Can't start ADSL connection, Redhat8.0

I think I've done everything I'm supposed to do before asking the list and I'm still flummoxed I see a similar message in the list [speedtouch] Can't start ADSL connection but no resolution. Here are all my logs as described in the FAQ.

[speedtouch] modem_run hangs

I've a very strange problem with my Speedtouch USB ('manta') modem : modem_run hangs sometimes after having uploded the bytecode. More precisely, it hangs at line 935 of modem_run.c : ret = pusb_endpoint_read(ep_int,lbuf,sizeof(lbuf),0); in function handle_endpoint_int().
