here is my setup:
Computer 1: Linux Redhat 9 (Athlon) with an Alcatel Speedtouch 330 ADSL
modem connecting as a static IP address to the internet using the GPL
Speedtouch USB driver
Computer 2: Windows XP Pro (Athlon) connecting to the internet over a simple

Are you saying that the applet loads but fails to run? If so, what does the
applet do?
it doesn't get that far unfortunately. The applet doesn't attempt to run at
all... it just shows a broken link type of icon

In the place where the applet displays? It sounds like the applet runs, trys to
download something and fails. What is the app

This issue is totally unrelated to the speedtouch driver. These kind of

I found out that, while I did enable "Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)
(EXPERIMENTAL)" under "networking options", I had NOT enabled "PPP Over ATM
(EXPERIMENTAL) " under "network device
