I got the 330 operational by executing the following steps:
1) split firmware
2) copy 2 firmware parts to the right place
3) edit /etc/chap-secrets, /etc/pap-secrets and /etc/ppp/peers/speedtch
4) edit /etc/resolv.conf
5) connect the ST330 via USB to the PC
6) connect to the provider
