Thank you for the thoughts, I finally got around to pulling the rear end
apart and found it was the rear spring. The inner spring was tight to the
suspension and the busings were good. However the outer spring was loose.

Hey Listers,
Back from a long absence (after my TR7 stint [smile]) I am again
thinking of taking on a Spitfire restoration project. However, I'd like
to do a Toyota 16 valve DOHC engine conversion. Dan Masters' website

Carter,
I had made a similar inquiry to my local parts guy
about Grose-jet reputation for leakage, because I'd
heard just as many warnings as I had good things about
the grose-jets. His story went as follows:

I just wanted to thank everyone that told me how easy it was to replace
the steering rack bushings. I got around to it the other day and I
think it was one of the easier jobs I have done on the Spitfire.

Listers,
I have two 40dcoe2's. I had two 39mm airhorns, so I ordered two more, from

air filter plate.

I am taking apart my 76 rear end, it is leaking at the pinion and both output
shafts. It is nearly out of the car and aparently there are two type of
diffs. One that uses spacers and a torque spec and another that uses a
colapsable spacer on the pinion shaft.
Is there a way to tell them apart b

BARF! AUGH! YUCK!
Last year, I was at the L.A. Auto Show, and they had one of those "green"
cars on display-a very flimsy affair made entirely of plastic (Hold it-
isn't plastic a petroleum product? And how would that thing hold up against
backing it into, for example-a mailbox or bicycle?)

Terry,
I hope the Grosse Jet's work out for you.
I had the opposite experience.
In the process of re-building the SU's on my 1147, I
ordered and installed a set of the Grosse Jets.
I had not been having any fuel control problems, I
just did it as part of normal R/R.

Hi all,
Is there any difference between these two frames? Are they interchangable?
How do I tell which one I have sitting on top of a 1500?

I checked the link-it really is a bill that's been bounced about, and will

it's not a joke.

Sorry for the spelling error. These are GROSE jets not

I got them from my local distributor shop (Mountjoy

I'd give you the part numbers on the packaging, but

To remove decals and pin stripes, we use a rotary eraser from 3M which is designed
for this purpose. It can be used with an electric drill or a die grinder at low
rpm. It won't damage the paint.
Paint will fade over the years, but it will not fade behind the decals.

I currently have a pair of dual SU's on my spitfire.

Our wheels either were missing the center part or never had it. We added a

I don't have wheels that use hub caps, but I have
