A guy in my car club had broken his gear shift in his TR3 a few years back,
so when mine broke a couple of months ago, he knew exactly what to do-
He made a jig to fit over the stump of the lever so that he could drill
straight down into the lever-mine is solid. Then, he made a little stud,

Same here! Funny thing though-British Car Week is usually the week Nigel
craps out entirely! It's like he thinks it's his week off!

Yeah-what Jeff said!
I have a friend who's bought and sold several cars on the internet (and
eBay)-including his present 1964 Spitfire and 2 1957 Urals!
In fact, I know several people who have bought and sold various vehicles on
eBay over the past few years-I think only one of them was unhappy

Yes, it bothers me-I have complained about it, I have written about it. And
nothing. Or, I get the classic response "But I drive my car!"-not 10k miles
a year or more! More like 500- 100 miles a year and the reast of the time
it's locked up, pampered and polished.

When I had my '77, I tried to only play British (with the exception of Billy
Joel) and of that era-which was hard because I was really into New Wave at
that time, and so much of that didn't come around untill *after* 77.
'78 is a good year-that would include not only PP&F, and Year of the Cat-b

And I got the same description as Mike-a risk taking, left side of the brain,

Nigel and I are totally incompatible.
No, wait-we are compatible only in terms of taking risk and age!
Compared to other Spitfire owners, I'm more generous, lower educational
level, too much a snob, make less money, more objective and logical and care
a bit too much about my car!

BARF! AUGH! YUCK!
Last year, I was at the L.A. Auto Show, and they had one of those "green"
cars on display-a very flimsy affair made entirely of plastic (Hold it-
isn't plastic a petroleum product? And how would that thing hold up against
backing it into, for example-a mailbox or bicycle?)

I checked the link-it really is a bill that's been bounced about, and will
be heard on 4/1/02-so even though it seems like a joke because of the date,
it's not a joke.
I'm wondering how a bill like that affects auto makers. Something that
affects a market as large as Californias must affect t

Hello Listers!
I'm back from the Great Race Texas-and I had a GREAT time! We DNFed the
first day-clutch went out on the 1942 Ford-but we rented a car and finished
the race, even though we were out of the competition. But, I learned A LOT!
And we did get the spirit award!
So, now back to the r
