Thanks Roland. I found the article enjoyable and informative.
I understand what you mean now by 'self limiting'-- who needs human
limitation of velocity?- the physics has that covered!
The article also inspires me to broaden the scope of test cases.
thanks again,

As Joe Hankins, formerly of FM, has repeatedly stated, the FM documents are
intended for use on FM projects with the assistance as necessary of the FM
Reps. They do not claim their data sheets are ready to be used in all cases as
prescriptive documents. THAT is their out: 'get insured

Cheers Brad. I wasn't previously aware of the EBs until recently when the EB
04-12 changed our options for use with EC spks in a HC3 while dealing with
an FM project. While discussing the changes and enquired about where and
what these EBs were, I got the impression from the FM rep that these were
ice?

Damien, the EB's are available on FM's site- they are at the top of the
particular Data Sheet they relate to.
Mike, I was not aware of Darcy for 30 ft/sec or greater. I think an FM
engineer would accept Darcy for the whole set, with 62.4 lb/ft3 for the
weight density, and 1.01 centipoise for the vi

Not related to the 1.2/1.4 topic, but on the evolution of FM datasheetd, I
just recently became aware, that as well as the Datasheets, FM also come out
with 'Engineering Bulletins' which are meant to take effect upon
publication. These Engineering Bulletins are not available on the FM
website. From
