Figure A.6.6.5(a). Per the IBC were being required to provide protection.
Can I apply 6.6.5.1.1?

Tim,
If you have the handbook the next page actually talks about this with a
"Closer Look" at the height limitations. (2016 - Pg201)

Peter,
One thing to emphasize is that it says 400ft3 not ft2. So, the thought is if
you have mechanical equipment like a furnace, you're not really going to
have much room to store anything in this closet. An example would be a
closet with an 8ft. ceiling can only be 7ftx7ft. This is 49sqft or
You could try suppling a bulk main to the remote area, essentially creating a
loop system. I had a job where it was OH1 and got installed and then ended up
getting reclassified as an OH2. We didn’t have enough water to feed the OH2
hazard so we ran a bulk main from the feed main to remote area.
You might try the Ames M500, Deringer 50GX or Ames 5000SS

I'm doing an Elementary school where in the commons area they have 4ft. by 8ft.
tectum ceiling panels space throughout with at least 1" of space between each
panel. These panels are slopes with the roof in one direct and then away from
the roof in another.
We did an apartment years ago that was S-2 on the first floor with R-2
above. We ended up sprinkling it throughout. You have to be careful because
there are a few requirements in the IBC you'll want to check out. I'm
guessing a 2hr fire separate is probably requirement. You also might want to
Good Morning,
I'm looking at putting in a change request to the NFPA 13 committee on
antifreeze systems. See below my reasoning.
1. Per NFPA 13 (2016) 7.6.3.1 if you don’t use a backflow your required to
incorporate a min. 5ft. drop and check valve with 1/32" hole.
2. Per NFPA you can only use
My two cents are as follows:
Looking at NFPA 14 chapter 3 (See below) you'll see the definition of
standpipe its states "vertically floor to floor", when the definition of
horizontal Standpipe says "single level". Also if you look up the definition
of horizontal in the dictionary you see says
Does anyone on here use some sort of drawing/project management software? Any
recommendations? We’ve been looking but seem most are more toward GC’s and not
specialty contractors.

Good Afternoon Forum,
We recently change to HydraCAD for Revit and seem to be having some issues
getting some of the architectural firms to release Revit files. They say
they can't release or share these files because they contain proprietary
information. I've tried multiple times to inform them

Does anyone know of any codes that help omit sprinklers from bank vaults?
