The scanner always automatically loads the Replay Gain tags from my FLAC
files (for both track and album). Replay Gain gives a good indication
of relative dynamic range, referred to the reference level of -14dB. I
find that the tracks with the better range have a Replay Gain of around
0 (the ref

My query is specifically about APEv2 tags in Wavpack files, & why LMS
won't read them.
I wasn't clear either... what if you transcoded that wavpack file to flac?

My problem is not playing the files, but having the tags read. In any
case I transcode them in LMS configuration, & the problem is still
present.
I meant to convert those files from wavpack to flac outside LMS. You
could then play the flac files just fine. As both formats are lossless

The button is not dark, and it says: "Shuffle - Don't Shuffle
Playlist."
Also, when I copied that part of the server.prefs it had just turned off
shuffle again, but I did look at it one time later before shuffle had
reset and it said: "shuffle: 1"

IMO, ReplayGain is an absolute must with a digital music player. Just
make sure that you choose "Smart Gain" in your ReplayGain settings so if
you are playing random tracks it uses track values and album value when
playing a full album.
