Having a catalog of some sort can be very helpful.
I keep a directory listing of my music library on my phone. This comes
in handy when I'm at the used record store or searching amazon. Having
an album list handy ensures I don't end up with duplicates. Running my
LMS on a Linux server makes this

I began with 7.6.x and am using now a late nightly 7.9.1 and those
values always were there.

Mine are also filled with the defaults suggested by JJZolx ? Is your
install brand new or upgraded trough the years ?
Hopefully it works as intended try and see what it does .

If you can not browse to the folder , the LMS user has no rights to see
the content of this folder or not even the folder itself .

Perhaps you could change the location of the library? It is a bit
uncommon that system paths should be under the root of the music
library.
If you want to stick with your current library location, I think this

I was wondering whether there was a possibility to exclude folders from
scans. What I want to get rid of is LMS regularly scanning the dustbin
/recycler/ and adding old files to the library which are not supposed to
be added.

You could look at the KidsPlay plugin but I don't think it has been
updated for ages. It allows you to "program" presets on Boom & Radio. I
did use it a long time agao but I don't remember it having a sync
option.
