I have a similar problem. It takes way too long too start, about 20
minutes. If this happens, SqueezeSvr.exe uses all CPU cycles of one
core. All squeezeboxes lose connecion. (It happens during a rescan too)

location as the music library end in doubles/triples links to files in
the library.
You know a lot more than I do. It doesn't really depend so much on where
your playlists are stored, but much more on how you store paths in

I'd also check firewall and antivirus blocking. Anything beyond 30
seconds to successfully launch LMS (1 min max) on a Win box, something
is very wrong.
