Maybe I should add that I don't use "AutoRescan" or "Rescan Music Library". I'll have another look at qlms.conf, though, maybe there's something new in it. QLMS 7.9.2@1.10b3 x64 (digimaster) / QNAP 469L QTS 4.3.4 dolodobe

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS startup goes from seconds to minutes under macOS Mojave

2018-10-23 Thread Ajeighh
Hi, I've recently upgraded to macOS Mojave, having checked in these forums that there didn't seem to be any major issues with LMS compatibility. I've found that LMS now crashes daily and takes about 20 minutes to re-start, whereas it used to take about 10 seconds. I've had a look at the Activit

Hi d6jg I use 'Squeezeplay' on my windows laptop to play the stream and then record with 'Cool Edit Pro' (a very old bit of software now) but I think you could use 'Audacity' to record. If the recorded file has a number of tracks within it I then split and convert it to seperate tracks with 'CD

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on AWS?

I recently got gigabit fiber installed and noticed I could write FLACs to AWS S3 a lot faster than I could transfer files to the external USB drive attached to the Raspberry Pi that runs LMS. That made me wonder about setting up a streaming server on AWS to stream to the Transporter. This means

Where can I look to see why it's crashing and taking so long to re-start? ~/Library/Logs/Squeezebox/server.log (or check in Settings/Information as long as it's running). -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com

That made me wonder about setting up a streaming server on AWS to stream to the Transporter. This means I wouldn't need the Pi based server or the external USB drive. AWS has media streaming built in, but I'm fuzzy on how to set it up so the Transporter can access it. You certainly could set up

There's CloudFront, and also several newish services. It's a lot to sift through though. Transfer out is about a penny a gig, at my rate that wouldn't be too expensive. What's been expensive is the Mac Mini dying and then having an accident with the backup disk and re-ripping hundreds of CDs. :)

If it’s that sort of thing that worries you then get a decent NAS (2 disk in Raid 1). Put your music on it and point your local LMS at it but also set it up to backup to one of the many relatively cheap cloud storage services on an overnight basis. You’ll only have to pay to download it if you nee
