You can also force that to happen to a single player without the need to
sync. in LMS webGUI, go to settings > player > audio, then under
streaming method select "proxied streami

Bpa, you are right! I did not know that LMS handles streams for synced

It plays everything from music library. The issue is only with internet
radio streams.
Once it starts playing, i can shutdown squeezelite on windows and pi
continues to play the stream
It "feels" like the pi cannot access the internet and so cannot play
streams directly.
When synced with other players the stream are handled by LMS which then
sends data to Pi.

I, too, use iPeng (the "normal" version). Maybe it's some combination of

yesterday I upgraded my LMS to version 8.0 and since that, all my titles
in the TIDAL playlist where played in MP3 format. Before the upgrade to
8.0 the TIDAL plugin played all in FLAC 44.1 KHz.
I reinstalled the TIDAL application in mysqueezebox.com, unchecked the
plugin in LMS and rest
