@Man In A Van - thank you for the RadioNet plugin suggestion, and of
course thank you to @bpa, who has kept music flowing for SO many years
now.

@nicklouse - thank you for that! I used to listen to Radio Puglia
(Italian) on my Squeezeboxen, however that has now stopped & sadly
disappeared.
Will check out the other radio plugin suggested.

I have some SB1s and have this issue for quite a while - I thought it
was because I run 2 servers (one backup). It seems to be timing- if you
interrupt the auto startup and step through the network setup then press
the down button just as it looks for a server, after a few attempts it
will lock

You've catched it!
It took me a while to find the shortcut: it was hiding in
Users\{username}\Music, a folder I never used and that should be empty -
will never know how a folder link crept in there.
LMS starts indexing
The "terminated unexpectedly" error again appears:

Just run it from console (as root). It will tell you every thing that's
wrong.

Hi,
After switching to LMS 7.91 I got this famous error message. Following
the advice on the forum, I updated perl to ver 5.10 and installed
perl-io-socket-ssl.
But the status still shows: Perl version: 5.8.6 - MARVELL_88F6281
On closer examination the ipk packages are installed in the /opt/lib/
And ...
Removing that file (well, all of the .mp4 files, there were 8 total) has
allowed the scan to continue:

Ok. I've no idea what happened, but now it's working again after a hard
reboot (yanked power
Morning Michael,
I included my Performance settings in my original post because I'd found a
slimforums post from you about changing them. The setting was on High. I
have changed it to Max, and set the scanning priority to -6.
There should be no issues with disk:
FilesystemSize
My LMS 8.0 have worked fine since I installed it, controlling an old
duet receiver.
But today it playback suddenly stopped and LMS says "No player".
What happened here?
Did the duet suddenly die?
Could it be something else?
The /var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log has messages like this:
Or a playlist using these files?

Shortcut to this folder in one of the other folders?
*Server - LMS 8.2.0
Just installed LMS.
Defined only 5 media folders in the Library tab:
32721
However, noticed in the Status tab that LMS is busy scanning a folder
*(O:\MUSICo-*) which is not on the list:
32722
How? Why?

IIRC you're running a service that doesn't work - you have to add to the
file
The OS can be run as a live usb stick (with persistance).
I popped in into a late 2012 Mac mini
Installed the LMS 8.1.1 amd.64.deb
and get the same results
Code:
squeezeboxserver_safe started.
Logitech Media Server died. Restarting.
We don't have 5.28 binaries for 32 bit. Did you get any error with 64
bit?

Well The power supply might have failed as I can't
I installed LMS v 8.** in both 32 and 64 bit versions
Both LMS run but die starting.
The OS has

Anything in server.log ?
If no log could there be a permissions issue access LOG and Cache.
Otherwise, try running LMS with the --d_startup command line option to
see if loading a specific module is causing it to fail
