Just to be clear what is normally contained in the server.pref file. Is it the mount details? It's LMS' own main configuration file. It has hundreds of prefs in there, like player settings, music folders, formatting etc. And it should be a human readable text file (YAML).

Tried your suggestion had another state. pref file that was empty so deleted that but LMS still not booting. Just sent you a copy of pCp boot log after deleting empty files boot log isn't too helpful. server.log might be better. I'd suggest you check all files in the prefs folder, incl. sub-fol

My techy mate who set my system up is no longer around so I need some advice on upgrading LMS without screwing things up. The reason I think I need to upgrade is that fairly often one of my SB3 players "cannot connect to the server". After a few days it sorts itself out but it's frustrating. I'
