Networking can be really tricky due to the fact that TCP/IP is a fairly stupid protocol does not feature any self-discovery or advertising methods. Running a system that tries to hide this from the user and also not offer any methods to automate how it should behave doesn't really help as well.

Not a Mac user, but your description is a bit vague. When you say "It doesn't see it" what is "It". Do you have music already in your LMS library from your local disk? LMS can't work with multiple root directories for your collection, so you'd either have to put everything on the local drive or o

In the Security & Privacy settings on your mac you can grant an application access to disks. You need to do this for perl, perl5.18 and /usr/bin/sh (IIRC). Please search the forum for similar reports (search for mac in the subject line. You should find the instructions.
