But if the music you have on the laptop is the same you have on your server with LMS on I don't see the reason for this exercise to begin with. Why not just use your laptop to control LMS? alfista's Profile: http://forums.s

To be honest, I doubt upgrading the server is the best way to tackle this problem, given that there are no problems with the picore players. Your description point more to a network problem I think. If you try to switch the SB3 to mysqueezebox when you experience this problem, does that work? The

Nothing strange about having more than one LMS instance, normally works just fine. Please be a little more specific about your setup and what happens. alfista's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32396

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Does LMS 7.9.1 dislike SB Radio?

2017-07-22 Thread alfista
To be fair, by moving LMS from your XP host to PcP you have introduced a more significant change to your system than the upgrade of LMS. My assessment is that this is a network issue. OrangeSqueeze doesn't talk to your radio, it talks to LMS, if your Radio keeps playing that implies it's connected

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] What OS do you recommend for the LMS

2017-07-31 Thread alfista
The distros build around LMS (Vortexbox, Daphile) usually include all kinds of stuff, like SW players or clever ripping programs, but my experience from Vortexbox is that it feels a bit "monolithic" and I do believe they work best when running on "bare metal". As long as it's just LMS you want and

Not sure I understand your question, but I believe what you want to do is to disable the UPnP/DLNA plugin in LMS. That way your Cambridge player shouldn't see the LMS instance. alfista's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.c

I'd be so rude to suggest your description is impossible and somewhat incoherent. The SB doesn't care about WiFi for powering up, you will get the large "splash screen" text no matter what. No reason whatsoever to mess with LMS, it's irrelevant for this. Did you use the same power supply in both

If the player does a complete restart, with "splash screen" and everything that would suggest some kind of hardware problem rater than server or network problem. The power supplies often fail with age and sometimes cause restarts. WiFi boards may also cause erratic behaviour. ---
