I recently acquired a Synology NAS to replace my aging Drobo DAS. I
moved my music over to the NAS, have it mounted from my Mac just fine,
but when I attempted to scan the contents, the scanner wasn't able to
find any files, putting an 'Operation not permitted' error into the

Interesting, since choosing a HomePod or an Apple TV as the output
device does work... I wonder what's different?

Hi,
I don't run LMS on Big Sur, but the Intel Mac that I use does, and it is
no longer able to grant 'Full Disk Access' to my installed apps after
installing yesterday's 11.6 update.
Just wanted anyone running LMS on Big Sur to be forewarned that there
might be an issue.

I have a couple pairs of original HomePods, and have them doing stereo

I just had a very odd thing happen... I'm running LMS 8 on macOS
10.15.7. Every few days I open the LMS system preference, get prompted
to update, click a bunch of things to update, and everything is fine.
Today, the installer gave me the error "The Installer encountered an

The 'Default' web interface skin doesn't redisplay the Advanced Search
form and the 'Save As' fields when performing an advanced search, it
just shows the search results. One needs to switch to a different web
interface skin to perform the advanced searches and save them as library
views.

Hi, not to refute or detract from anyone's experiences or issues, but I
just upgraded my Mac to from 10.14.6 to 10.15.1 and my LMS 7.9.2 seems
to be working fine. I have all my music on an external drive connected
to my Mac.

Can anyone confirm if SqueezePlay still works on Catalina? Activity

The nightly LMS on macOS Mojave doesnt seem to start up any more in the
past day or so. I cant imagine theres many people running this, but I
thought I would check to see if anyone else is experiencing a similar
problem before I start looking through log files.

Hi, just wondering if I should be submitting an issue for this at
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/issues ?
As a work-around, I guess I should be using my router or macOS firewall
to block access, right?
dborod's Pro
I replaced the value for 'allowedHosts' in /Library/Application\
Support/Squeezebox/server.prefs with a '*' and that caused 'Block
Incoming Connections' to be reverted to 'Do not block' upon restart.

I have figured out how to mess LMS up and get it into a broken state.
Here's what I did:
- fresh install, everything is fine
- Assign a user and password in Advanced > Security. Server starts and
stops and works fine.
- Change "Block incoming connections" to "Block". The value in "Allowed

No, after doing some scanning, resetting of preferences, restarting LMS
a couple of times, it is again in the state of not working any more. I
seem to think that it might have something to do with the security
settings related to the blocking of connections. I added in a user name
and password and
Ok, that lets it work, and it stops properly too.

I removed the preference and installed it again. LMS still doesn't work,
and the "Stop Server" button still doesn't stop the server.

Just going out on a limb here, but do these lines in the server log mean
anything:
Code:
[17-11-02 11:30:12.6613] Plugins::ShairTunes2W::Plugin::shutdownPlugin
(264) Killing all processes shairport_helper-osx
[17-11-02 11:30:12.6611] Plugins::ShairTunes2W::Plugin::shu
That command stops the server, and UI in the preference pane updates
itself right away.
Restarting the server from the preference pane still doesn't make the
web interface work, and the button still doesn't make it stop.

The macOS firewall? No, it is not on.
I do have the remote access setting in LMS enabled, with my local IP
