Thank you so much. This is exactly the overview I needed.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to set up LMS to be accessible over

About 4 months ago I switched from a windows server to a dedicated linux

Thanks Michael! That should help a lot.
Autumn is here in NZ now so this should be a good rainy day project.

Slightly late to this, but my experience may help give you some
confidence...
I am running, and regularly have sync'd playing across, 7 devices
running 9 players.
* 4 Pis on Ethernet running 6 players
* 2 pis on wifi running 2 players
* One official Squeezebox (3rd Gen) Ethernet

Hmmm, maybe I'm thinking too simplistic here, but I understood the

What are you using to power them on? An app, web interface or remote?

Hi guys,
For ages I've been meaning to move from windows to Linux, but I've been
putting it off as re-setting up everything from scratch (plugins,
settings, sync timings etc) all seems a bit of a hassle.
Does anyone know of an easy way to transfer a LMS setup to an new
machine without having to

Yep - that post was top of mind for me when I posted this.
Having looked for myself, I was incredibly shocked as to how widespread
the problem is. I couldn't really believe people would do that.
I naively thought the level of knowledge requ

Hi all,
I was doing some basic checking on the security of my own system and I
was completely shocked to see how many people have opened their
squeezebox web front end to the internet.
If this is you, please turn this off ASAP.
This is a major security hole (at a minimum I'm sure you wouldn't
I stumbled on a nice little map that shows the relative distribution of
people using squeezebox.
I thought others might like to see it as well!

Awesome - thanks!

I have LMS running on a basically dedicated win 10 box with an older

That is of course because I'm just assuming LMS runs l
Actually I've just had a count up and I'm already happily running 4
players at the moment on 'phase 1' of my implementation. All are on wifi
and they are keeping sync really well. I have 3 others set up but
haven't tested all together in sync as I'm still waiting on
DAC's/AMP's/Relays to arrive.
Hi all,
I'm slowly building up a new squeeze implementation for our new house
(ok, we've been in it 2 years, but it'll still be considered new until I
get the music sorted).
But I have a burning question: How many separate synchronised players
will realistically work together?
Ideally I have 9
