No reason at all. I find it useful with CCC.

yes I tried, and I'm even more puzzled.. I set up a small usb-key to
test, with a few files with accented filenames, and now I'm having rsync
rewriting three of them all the times whatever option: without -iconv

Given my recent finding, I am as surprised as you are that m

Thank you very much mrw, a lot of information to digest for a not so
well informed guy.
Ill go through it and will try what you say and tey to find out what
happens.
Certainly, if pCP and LMS would add full support for HPF+ or APFS,
everything would be much simpler. Indeed i had to turn to exfat
@mibigo
Some thoughts:
*1.* I believe that where you have ---iconv=UTF-8,UTF8-MAC- you would
want to have - --iconv=UTF8-MAC,UTF-8-.
Check that for yourself, google revealed it very quickly.
Nevertheless, I confirm that the ---iconv- stanza does not seem to be
effective when copying from my A
Dear MRW and Michael,
thank you for answer; I probably misunderstood the meaning of the log.
The fist time, (which I had not had the patience to let it complete
beforehand) indeed it transferred some 20,135 files of the 25,935 files
that I have in my library: which explains why it took so much
I believe that even if there's an AppleScript launching rsync, it's
crucial to understand how it is being called. Because there are modes
where rsync would run on both ends, both processing data locally,
whereas in other cases rsync would only run on the client. In the latter
case _all_ data woul

Im going to have to defer to a Mac user. There are quite a few
around, hopefully they will see this.
You might try the usb2 port to see if there is any odd incompatibility.

Rsync over ssh, or do you have the filesystem network mounted?
How much data was being transferred. After moving the drive, it could
have possibly thought it needed to sync the all of the content.

Hi, Don't know if this has been already treated somewhere in the forum I
couldn't find it.
I have pCP 8.0 and LMS 8.2 and I have and USB drive WS 4TB attached to
the Raspberry Pi4. I'm using Rsync to sync my Mac's Itunes library
folder with the USB drive attached to the Pi4. And I found it insan
