Yes of course I don't want dups, but that's rather a side issue. I'm
very gradually working my way through the DAO rips to convert them to
track rips. But I still want them in the library meanwhile, hence I
don't wish to exclude .cue files!
The issue is the log filling up with superfluous info
Sure but as noted earlier that disables all .cue processing.
I'd still like to know if it's possible to suppress the "Handling new
playlist file" event in the error log file as it fills the log file up
rather, and makes it much harder to find the real scanning errors!

I think that's why I disabled them at some point. My first rips were all
"DAO", WAV + CUE, because it was faster on my
Sorry I wasn't clear - "(891) Handling new playlist" seems to be logged
for *every* .cue file i.e. even if there are no referenced files
missing.
If there are, then the other log line "Parse (473) Error" is present,
which is fine.
After a bit more digging I found that this line is in the log for every
.cue file!
Scanner::Local::new (891) Handling new playlist
file:///[path]artist-album-blah.cue
All scanner logs are set to Error, so given there are *lots* of these
entries, surely this event should only be logged at the

Wow I never knew of that option - or indeed the other stuff!
I guess the ideal would be an option for the scanner to ignore missing
errors, but I guess I need to do some housekeeping.
File under "Things I wish I'd known when I started ripping". At least I
ripped to flac in the first place ...

yes exclude is good option here , but you miss the unconverted whole
albums so you have to decide to convert all to single files and then
exclude .
I just remove all those *.cue files and *.m3u files ?
Explanation some rippers i used in

Ah OK, I've just realised that I've got a whole bunch of DAOs still
present so it'll take a while to split them out.
I'm still puzzled why it interprets them as playlists though.
Guess I'll just have to go through all occurrences and delete the
superfluous .cue files.
LMS can handle multiple tracks per file with the help of those .cue
files.
Therefore it reads them. Since you deleted the corresponding DAOs you
can delete them either.

PS Love the way the forum interprets the "parse" line ;-)
I guess I'm not the first to notice it ...
