The client seems to be badly broken in attempting to use it anyway, so I

I have changed the config and can now login to the cache manager.
This was in the conf already:
http_access deny CONNECT !SSL_ports
So, the issue remains whether allowing password access to the cache manager is
enough.
How else can this be made more secure? I guess not if the only way for me to

Hello.
On my debian server (+lenny) is now openVZ and squid running.
For http (port 80) everything works fine.
Currently thre OpenVZ virtual servers are running.
All of them have their own apache (web 80/443), ftp (port 21) and mail
servers (pop3, smtp, in the future imap).
My question:

Squid is a http(s) proxy.
It doesn't support the direct FTP proxy and pop3/smtp/imap proxies.
There appears to be a problem with the connection pinning in both
versions squid-2.7.stable7 and

(IE6) creating multiple TCP
connections to the squid proxy and the proxy creating multiple TCP
connections to an IIS server.

The placement of that line is important. Squid's access controls work
