Something like this tells me it might not be Squid at all. I would
suggest you reboot your machine and run a full memory test on restart.
If that is OK then take it from there.

correctly. Sharepoint answers with HTTP Code 401.
Our Proxy Setup is open. There are absolutely no client address
restrictions and we're also not using proxy authentication.

I don't know about others, but for blocking we generally take the,
"guilt by association" strategy. If a site has one web page that needs
to be blocked (URLs) we block the entire domain. Some might say that's
overkill, but that's the strategy

I use the actual Gentoo with squid 2.5.STABLE1 and ucd-snmp-4.2.6.
SNMP is properly configured as described in
http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-18.html. But, when I do a
snmpwalk localhost:3401 public .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1.1
I get a
snmpwalk: Timeout
When I switch debugg
alhost:3401 .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1.1

Hi All,
I am planning to build squid proxy for our University on a couple of HP (Intel)
boxes. I was wondering which OS should I use so that proxy server will be running at
high performance and secure level . The OS which I am considering are:
1) Red Hat 8
2 ) Red Hat 9
3) Intel Solaris 9
rom SuSE 8.2.
So how can I realize this? Every help is appreciated.
