Dear Squidders
I am setting up a reverse proxy so we can move from a temporary Apache Reverse
proxy.
It works fine for all the Domains/Urls Hosted etc..
But if I go to the IP of the Proxy I get URL could not be retrived page with
the proxy details, obvioulsy I would rather nto have this
Hi Folks,
3.0.19
What is the simplest way to get squid to fetch sites on specific URLS from a
Specific Parent, and all other sites to be fetched directly?
Cheers
Rob
Our bandwidth is been eaten by teachers showing Youtube and BBC iPlayer,
Is there a way to get S3.0.19 to effectivly cache this content?
Thanks

SQ 3.1.0.7
We are running a new squid box to replace our 2.6 box. It all works fine except
it does seem to be requesting IDENT,
I have tried recompiling with enable-ident-lookups but this seems to have made
no difference.
I have tried
acl_ident_aware_hosts src 10.106.88.0/21
SLES10
Squid 3.1.0.7
I am seeing continual errors
commBind: Cannot bind socket FD 34 to 10.106.88.65:3128: (98) Address already in
use
I can't seem to find any usefull information about these errors?
can anyone shed any light?
Thanks
Rob
3.0.STABLE13
I am getting errors in my cachelog
client_side_request.cc(825) redirecting body_pipe 0x85d6140*1 from request
0x8520fd8 to 0x85206c8
Is this a problem, we do seem to be having problems opening PDF's in the
browser.

I have added the line
debug_options 61,1 84,1
to the base of our config file.
We are still getting all the redirector startup output.

Compiled up 2.7.STABLE6 and that more or less worked out of the box.

Now, when is 3.1 looking like it's comming out of Beta?
Thanks

3.0-STABLE13
A user is trying to get to an external windows sharepoint server running on IIS
but gets a 401.2 from the IIS server when going through the proxy.
Going directly pops up the login box from the IIS server.
what steps can I take to resolve this?

SquidGuard 1.4
Our SquidGuard configuration changes every minuet.
The problem is that with 3.0.S13 and SquidGuard 1.4 it seems to constantly log
the startup output of SquidGuard to the cache.log
on our old server with S 2.5.S12 and SG 1.2 it did not log the redirector
startup
It says it's in version 2.6 and 3.1
Does this therefore exclude all strains of V3.0?
I have changed
#http_port 3128
to
http_port 3128 connection-auth=on
https_port 3128 connection-auth=on
I have tried on both ourt 2.6.x and 3.0.x server and neither seems to have made
any difference.

3.0.STABLE13 on SLES10
We have had Ident working on our old server running 2.5.STABLE12 and prior
versions for about 10 years.
I have just built a fresh server with 3.0.STABLE13 and ident does not seem to be
working.
I have added the line
ident_lookup on ( is this new since 2.5? )
But still
#17.19 is my old workstation IP, nothing is on this now
#16.2 used to be the ip of the squid server not used anymore
acl netmgr src 10.106.17.19/255.255.255.255 10.106.16.2/255.255.255.255
acl manager proto cache_object
acl localhost src 127.0.0.1/255.255.255.255

Squid 2.5STABLE12 on SLES10
I know this is quite an old version but it's on our production machine.
Anyway we have a strange issue where squid seems to be shunting down every 22
minuets or so, the logs says Preparing for shut down after XXX requests.
Now every minuet we do a squid -k
(Amos) Sorry did not reply to list Ignore..
I wish SLES10 was more up to date on a few packages!!
I can't find anythin that may be shutting down squid, certainly there seems to
be no cron jobs and the issues are happeing at aproximatly 22 minuet intervals
which is not consistent with a cron
