Squirrelmail is a webbased client from what I understand.
I was hoping that it had a plugin, or something that could be used to grab
emails from other accounts, then a person would have just the one place to go
to, to get all of their emails.

Im facing the same problem as you do 2 days ago, all i do to fix this
are (and a li'll bit story if the moderators please me, and sorry if
it not allowed,will be no more) :
1. My squirrelmail web server is installed on the same machine with
proxy (squid), since too many request for web br
I use windows how should the datadir searchstring be writen?

Copy SquirrelMail data directory to some place.
Make sure that *.pref, *.abook and *.si? files are readable by your user.
Execute command 'flat2sql.pl --data_dir=p
