I also have noticed the history change, since I got merge commit by pulling from upstream. Some of the commits were removed and the commit about Release 0.101.4 was pushed to the repo. I don't know for sure, but maybe the changes are caused by review schedule: 0.101.4 - 03/24/14 - Feature Freeze.
