The Banff Conference was great and has renewed my interest in analemmatic
sundials with four examples on the Saturday bus tour. I like the
appropriateness of using seasonal markers on analemmatic sundials and
demonstrated by
Roger Bailey.

All I know about it is that is was sadly damaged recently during the filming
of a beer commercial when it was struck by heavy machinery. I think it has
been restored since then.

I have a vertical pole in an open area of my back yard. Is it
possible to layout a sundial with its shadow? Is there a program to
do this or would it have to be done
by marking points over a years time? Also what would the lines look
like--the classic analemma or something else?

I know of two sundials in Greece. One is at the
YMCA square in Thessaloniki but it doesn't have the gnomon. The other is inside
the university in Sindos.
