Hi all,
Thank you for the clarifying responses to my query. Especially Fred for the
Thew patent form and the reference to the article in the NASS Compendium
1(2). It stretches the heritage of our beautiful garden dial more than two
centuries. Wow!

Hi all,
Last year I bought a garden sundial of a type which I call an inverted
armillary sphere; see my web page:
http://www.biol.rug.nl/maes/zonnewijzers/en/whitehall-e.htm .
This model is being sold in stores for garden ornaments, also on the web. A

Dear Anselmo and all,
With respect to the bifilar polar dial in Appingedam (NL), my site does
not specify the shape of the curved gnomon. It is certainly no ellipse, nor
a hyperbola. Do you like some math? Have a look at the article by Fer de
Vries in the NASS Compendium 8 (4), in particular
.
Kind regards,

As far as I can see, no EoT correction is present in this design.

Hi All,
In my previous e-mail I noted a clear-cut case of plagiarism which I saw in
the latest issue of the NASS Compendium. This might have been be mistaken
as if some item in The Compendium was plagiarized. If that is the case, I
apologize for my poor usage of the English language. What I
year.
Have you considered an inverted armillary sphere? Examples can
be found at my page Pole-style - equatorial in the bottom row of
thumbnails.
Please keep us informed about the results!

Was the tilt of the dial changed accordingly, or does its pole-style miss
