Trying to add a new Gtalk buddy and getting a "buddy not authorized"
error. The help I'm finding is all about steps needed for the initial
setup of Gtalk, like telling Google to allow less secure app
connections, but I've already had the account set up for some time and

For the last couple of hours I've been having problems with Pidgin
repeatedly disconnecting from Jabber for no apparent reason. It's giving
me a "Remote host closed connection" error. The other protocols I'm
connected to are working fine. Any ideas?

Are you still able to send/recieve IM messages from him?

One of the chat protocols I use Pidgin for is Jabber, and I have a buddy

of a sudden now he's showing up on my buddylist as "Not authorized." The
only solution I could find googling was that my friend was supposed to

I've emailed about this once before but didn't get any responses, so I'm
really hoping someone can help me this time, cos it's a really
frustrating problem. I got a new computer a year ago and ever since I
installed Pidgin on this computer AIM file transfers don't work. I can

I used to always see a sidebar in a chatroom listing all the users who
are in the room, but it's mysteriously vanished. How do I make it show
up again?

I'm not getting requests for file transfers on AIM. It's not that the
transfers are failing--the dialogue asking me to accept never shows up.
What should I do? Thanks in advance.
I recently got a new computer, and now that I have Pidgin set up there,
everything is working fine except for one thing. When someone tries to
send me a file transfer request on AIM, I don't get the request. It's
not that the request is unsuccessful--I just don't see the request at

Subject: [dkim] Timestamp plugin
Hi, I'm wanting to download the plugin to show timestamps on my
messages, but I'm not seeing it listed on the plugins page
enabled.
I guess it should work by default.
What protocol are you using? I just tried IRC and there the time is shown with
every message.
Regards,
David
