I didn't see anything on the developer's chat page about a replacement for xmpp. I suspect someone will try to reverse engineer messenger's protocol, and I hope they succeed. But even if they get something workable, it still won't be as good as an api provided by and openly documented by Facebook.

Ditto, though for me the problem only began yesterday, 23 Apr. I've noticed the same behavior on Digsby, both using XMPP and native Facebook protocol. Also, a few random Facebook friends do appear in Pidgin and Digsby from time to time, but the usually disappear after a short while. -- View this
