there might be some simple setting I had that was
preventing the pop up from being totally visible. Thanks again to all
who commented.
One last thing you could try is to set the minimum font size to None and
see what happens. I had to do this a long time ago (and never reset it

Try searching for "throbber" on Bugzilla. That's what the moving
disabled.
I'll build a completely fresh profile tomorrow and see what happens. If
I still have the problem I'll raise a bug report.
This is a test machine (it usually runs grid software - theskynet,
worldcommunitygrid) so it's no great drama.
