I am wondering about this question:
is it possible/ reasonable to mix ambisonic encoded information of different
order?
For example:
The sound-information (synthesized) is encoded in Ambisonic 7th order while the
spatial reverberation of that very sound is encoded „only“ to third or
wishes,

if it is an installation (fixed media) you could go for a wavepayer:

it is a sd-card-player, easy to use and you can use it stand alone, so
you do not have to bring your computer necessarily on site.

there is an update of my collection of Csound instruments for
spatialisation via Ambisonic. Encoding and decoding is now possible up
to 3rd. order Ambisonic. Also the whole code got reviewed, several
bugs were fixed and much more comments were inserted to make it all a

everything that you need, though it is still a bit hard to operate:
- spatialisation up to 3rd order ambisonic
- distance clues
- specular early reflections
- diffuse early reflections
- local reverb
