In making Biodiesel, if someone uses methanol, it does not have to be water
free, but if you use ethanol, it has to be water free correct?

Unfortunately thats not the correct patent for this process. Fox,
Ginosar and Lockheed Martin were a bit sneaky, they published an
international patent (WO prefix)for this process. I came across a
vague reference in one of their multiple press releases somewhere.
