I would just start over - I think you need to get a good crack before worrying about wash tests. You should see a very clear line with no middle layer at all. Be sure there is no water in your oil, double check your titration, and maintain steady heat. I found it useful to learn on new oil in

Sounds like you have water somewhere Shawn; This might be in the oil or in your methanol (likely). Even the KOH can adsorb water very quickly although if it does it tends to 'melt' before your eyes. Heat the oil above the boiling point of water first and see if you can steam any water out of
