So I ran across a guy that has a half-full drum of methanol in his barn. The
drum belongs to a buddy of his who says he'll sell it, make an offer. What is
a fair price for the drum and 20-30gal of methanol? I'm thinking around the
$40-$50 range. BTW, I live in Wisconsin.
Is it possible to make motor oil out of WVO? I read in another thread about
using biodiesel in gas engines as a fuel additive, anyone know anything about
maybe using it as an oil additive? Good idea, bad idea?

Do you Yahoo!?
Friends. Fun.
Not sure about the coolant line heaters. I'm sure your plastic tank will be
safe up to, at least, 200 Deg, F. as for links to kits I found these on

Good luck and have fun,
Luc,
Happy to hear you found a home for your processor. I am currently looking
for a new home for myself before I begin construction, however I have recently
accuired two electric water heaters. Not quite sure of the volumes of either
just yet as they have just been shoved into
I have an '83 Benz 300D. Five cylinder IDI. IT WON'T SHUT OFF!!! Help me
please, I have been reading the wiring diagram in my Haynes manual but I can't
find whatever it is that shut off the fuel supply. I figure I have a solinoid
or relay that's stuck in the on position but I can't find
How about just running the condenser coil through a cooler, or any container
for that matter, of ice water. A small 6QT cooler available at any
home/department store for $5 would work great. We use the exact same system to
chill a hard cider tap at the bar I work at. Never runs warm.
PICTURES I WOULD APRECCIATE YOUR COLABORATION.
THANKS.

Hello Gents,
Am I to understand that the methanol can be recovered from the entire
Biodiesel/Glycerin mix before decanting/separating? In doing this, do any
separation problems occur? I don't plan to break down the glycerin into it's
elements, rather I plan to use it as a degreaser/hand
Well Keith, the stuff I'm speaking of is actually white here in the states but
it is commonly used for water. More commonly for drainage. So let's hope were
thinking of the same thing, It's signifigantly cheaper than steal plumbing.
I'm finally getting my first diesel car tomorrow and, I
Thanks for the info Steve. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'd be
down for recoating a fuel tank.
Much appreciated,

Thanks for that bit of info. I am planning to buy two Mercedes 300D's.
Specifically, a '79 300CD and an '81 300SD. I'll keep that in mind and most
definetly use it as a bargaining tool.

Or how about a 4x4 diesel coupe?

I saw in another post that HEET gas line antifreeze is pure enough methanol to
produce biodiesel. I am planning to run my first test batch very soon but I'm
having trouble finding methanol. Does anybody know if HEET is pure enough to
use?

Thanks Keith, I looked for the MSDS sheet but couldn't find it except to order
a copy off the Gold Eagle website.
One more question about the Methanol. In the recovery process explained on
the Journey to Forever website (condensing the methanol out of the glycerin)
approximately how much
I'm a student at UW-Parkside in Kenosha WI. I'm actually in the southeast

the info guys, it's been a big help. I've just recently
A few months back I saw a diesel rabbit come into a salvage yard that I
frequent. I have no idea the size or condition of the engine but I personally
turned it over. I have no idea if the car is still in the yard but the place
is called Sturtevant Auto Salvage - Sturtevant WI. The phone
