Hi Skaar and All,
Thanks for the info. I didn't know there was any
other besides one in Maine? and a really big one in
France.
Thanks,

appreciate if you share it with me.Thanks & regards.

there's a large reservoir built by closing off a bay, the dam has a
piece of the highway on it, there is a small building in the middle.
you go inside and there is a bunch of stuff showing how it's built, i
took a look a few years ago, like 11-12, the dam has a hole in it and
there is a large turb
maybe if the wind comes from a single direction more often than the
others you can build a plastic sheet wind guide, funnel the wind down to
a single point where the wind goes into a small turbine.

Hi All,
I build wind gens by building most of it from
scratch. First I find a permenant magnet motor about
twice the voltage , amps and the rpm I need. The
voltage has to be higher than the batteries at 350 rpm
for a 6 ft blades to work well. These are hard to find
but I buy them for

I'll be needing that too! At least the parts list, we can scout from junk
shops here and we can build it from "scrap" maybe under $100.

Sorry but a good wind gen is so much more
reliable than a gasifier system. I stopped building
them because so many good wind gen are now a
ya, we have an enormous tidal generator in annapolis valley.

i'm sure you could burn these as a short term method, maybe as woodgas
type stuff, there will probably be plenty of oil left in them for
biodiesel, the nut shells would probably burn nicely too. how about
after storms, collect fallen trees and use them in times when you are
short of reliable fuel
Sorry Jerry, but wind power is intermittent - or, as I prefer - unreliable!
Source of biomass is good - burn it and run generator on steam. It may not
be as efficient, but you have the power when you want it, not when the wind
chooses to blow.
It is also less capital intensive than high level tec

I've been on this e-group for quite sometime now as a luker and every bit of
information posted here interests me, especially since I live and work in a
place where energy efficiency is still an alien concept. Everything else
