Dave, Well, since no one else has responded, I'll give you my 2 cents. I'd suggest a good used Mercedes - the '81 through '85 300D sedans and 300TD wagons all have turbos, and are plentiful in the under $3500 range, at least here in Northern California. The Mercedes prechamber engine is legendary
