Suggest get it analyzed to determine the amount of iron and possible other
contaminants. For example, does it contain nitrate/nitrites? Or coliform?
The analysis will determine what kind of equipment you need to install. An
ion exchange system, with resin chosen to remove the specific miner

Well, if it is only an expert who said it, without sending it to laboratory
for test, I would not be so sure. A lab test is not that expensive and then
you are more sure of what the water contains. It could be a number of
things. Does it smell and if, what? Is it any other things? How does it
Thanks very much for the replies about the water problem.
Hakan, I don't know if the water has been tested or not, but the
official story is that it is iron. The well belongs to a relative of
mine overseas and I haven't even seen it. Apparantly when it is bad
it is the colour of strong tea.

Have you tested the water so you know it is iron?

into a house with no mains water and so put in a borehole. Despite
two filters installed by 'experts' the water is still strongly
discoloured by iron.
