Hello,
I am updating the Ubuntu sword package from 1.5.9 to the current 1.5.11.
However, I noticed that libsword used to be libsword.so.6 whereas now it
is libsword-1.5.11.so
This does not 'play' nicely with the shlibs versioning and dependency
system for most linux systems that I am aware of.
reading over my emails I can see I did a very poor job of wording
My opinion over the choice of license for sword was never intended to be
conveyed. I personally am only concerned in the desired use of the
sofware from a "spirit" and "letter" of the law/license. From a more
legal perspective,
I appreciate you helping me clue in on this. Even better, I appreciate
you helping me understand the concerns, something a license by its
nature just can't really convey.
I think it is very important to honor your requests (the spirit) and not
just get by on technical loopholes (the letter).

Thank you for being a voice of reason and self control.
There are valid issues for the protecting of work and the desire to
allow for wide dissemination that get burried under pagan trivia and
self serving agendas and rage.
My concern is that the portions I write not be viral. I am not really

Free as in Freedom
Is Sword available under a dual license btw? This probably has already
been answered but I am failing to find it currently.
Some believe the GPL to be restrictive and freedom destroying. What
about other open source licenses like the Python license for exam
Yes, handily there are virtual images available also for Parallels and QEMU.
Check out http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Developers/Setup for information for
developers.
Personally, I prefer to use the jhbuild (sugar-jhbuild) to get the
latest development goodies.
Let me know if you need any help sett

There is always the possibility of dual licensing. A company could
obtain special permission to use a less restrictive license given that
certain requirements are met.
