The last time this was proposed [1], it was agreed that we should wait a
year before proposing this again. It's been a year, what to we think?
To recap the arguments raised previously:
- 2.5 does not get security fixes anymore. The last release for 2.5 was
in May 26th, 2011. [2]
Let's try to push out a release, and then drop it.
I didn't know that about 2.6. I suspect it will take a bit longer for
people to be fully migrated to 2.7. Even the latest version of Mac OS X
uses Python 2.6 as the default.
