Brian, Mt wife's a PT. She tells me that using an ultra sound machine over the suspected stress fracture area (obviously when it's turned on) will vibrate the area enough to make it pretty uncomfortable if it's in fact a stress fracture. Much less expensive and easier to come by than a bone
