If you want the long winded answer the name of our country is
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and people from
that country are called BRITISH!
If they are from NI and compete for the Republic I guess they are called
IRISH!!!

Funnily enough, the question is not without merit. Northern
Ireland, while
being a part of the United Kingdom, is not actually part of
Great Britain.
Hence the team competing at Edmonton is named Great Britain
and Northern
Ireland.

I thought only Americans were supposed to be this
geographically clueless.
Apparently Canadians are no better. And this particular
