California High School T&F athletes have been able to compete in 4 events

It is not unusual to see kids here today running on both relays (4X100) and

John Capel was the story of the meet. Capel, slow out of the blocks, came on in the last 15m to post a 6.14 for the 55 m sprint. Arvand Moncur got the best of Davian Clarke in the men's 400m. Time was in the mid 47's.Moise Joseph got tangled up in the 800m and then exited the track through the doubl

In NJ this year, they allow HS athletes to compete in 4 running events at a
single-day track meet. Initially, I didn't have any feelings about this rule
change, but now I have to say I'm slightly disgusted by it. The reason being
is that I'm witnessing coaches, not athletes, "slaving"

gee, you learn something every day. Shepherd's pie was a staple, but i had
never heard the term "cottage pie" before. Dictionary says it's a Shepherd's
pie made w/ beef, which means that's actually what we ate cuz lamb was
nonexistent in those days and mutton was unpalatable.

The Mappa/Quercetani book of about 10 years ago that had the top 1000

I have a vague-vague-vague-vague recollection that reputable eyewitnesses
later revealed that the pit was significantly low. But I could be confusing
with somebody else. I only bring that up in hopes of spurring somebody
else's memory.
But hey, the bottom line is that I was the T&FN statistician a
