Take the document out of protected mode by hitting alt-F and tabbing to
protected mode. If you trust the source, then space bar or enter on enable
editing.
I had to do this with a documeth last night and it worked.

Turn off protected mode.
Alt-f, t, t, alt-t, p until you get to protected mode and uncheck all boxes.
