Be sure you are actually in a spreadsheet. Opening Excel 2013 and 2016 can
put you in a window where you have to choose what you want to do, start a
blank spreadsheet, open an existing one, etc. I think this is what Chris
was getting at when he asked how you are opening it.
If you know
Check your set files to make sure the correct ones are installed. To do
this, press ctrl-backspace to bring up the control panel. Then press alt-F,
then F to bring up the factory settings. Then navigate to the correct
version of office and make sure the set file is correct. If the version

Are you opening a document or just opening Excel?

Working from memory, I think I remember someone on the list suggesting checking
the status of your scroll lock. If scroll lock is on, it might interfere with
