Thanks for releasing your work into the public domain!

Hi,
I'm proposing to add railway=platform for platforms of stations.
Currently, we only mark the station as such on a node.
However, in reality, people are using platforms from different
directions, and the platforms have one or more exits where other ways
connect.
Please see

Hi,
I'm currently working with a local designer on a set of svg icons for
our company to use on our rendering of the maps. The goal is to have
a standard set of icons in svg in a consistent style tagged for easy
colour substitution.
These are released as Public Domain as of now but are still a w
Much better to use cycle route relations to show it's a route, and
then an access tag (bicycle = dismount, or similar) to show the
specific manner of transportation. There's plenty of London Cycle
Network sections that are part of a route relation whilst the way is

I'll give my public thanks to Steve here, not only for collecting the
award but also for the original mapnik layer on which the cycle map
was originally based.
And of course, the thousands of people who have contributed directly
or indirectly to the map itself, which would be a bit barren

Hi,
Been reading all the discussions for a while with growing frustration.
I find my self mostly agreeing with the CC-By-SA license but I do
wish there was a way to easily provide exceptions to those
organisations wishing to make good use of the data but having problems
with the license.
So my q
It is only loops that you need ordered elements for, for directional
elements you can add 'forward' and 'backward' roles. Check out some stuff
here.

The coastline checker as a side effect produces the shapefiles for mapnik.
The reason is that the coastline in the database isn't a geometry, but
a collection of ways. The checker joins all the segments into several
million node linestrings and then chops it into peices again and makes

Oh. Can't we? Bother. Now I've got most of the Clacto
Its great to see the cycle map being recognised by the BCS. This is a
fantastic commendation for Andy A, Dave Stubbs and for OSM.
Good work!

Thanks for that. The proposal does remind me of the problem in that we can't
create a relationship with an ordered list of members so it is not possible
to define a bus route that has a loop in it (which does happen). There does
seem to be a general need for an option to associate and ordered list
Opencyclemap has received a Commended Award in the British Cartographic Society
annual awards. It was in the Avenza-sponsored Electronic Mapping category. Last
night I was a guest of the BCS at their annual gala dinner and accepted the
award on behalf of Andy Allan, who was not able to be there.
