My setup is a plain one, no frills, nothing special, just open to every
site that wants to take part to this experiment of tracking accross OSM
related sites to understand how visitors move between all them and finally
register/contribute or not... but for this the main OSM site should also

Hi.
This week, the National Land Survey of Iceland released a huge amount of
data publically accessible free of charge. The general public and
companies have already started using the data and one company intends to
release a complete 3D map of Iceland, largely based on said data. The

a huge step forward for the project.
@Jeff do you know the author? I'd love to hear his thoughts on whether to open
source the app and what the right forum is for feature / integration ideas. I
have a bunch.

general map viewing and/or navigation use (by non-geeks)? Is there offline

How does it compare to OsmAnd (on Android)?

But the Settings screen shot shows "Editor" vs "Editor with Satellite"
vs "Satellite only - no editing" vs "Mapnik only - no editing".
Also, the Clear Cache screen has entries for OSM Data, Bing Aerial
Tiles, and Mapnik Tiles and the text implies that where ever you've
viewed is cached locally

Hello,
I'm happy to present you *overpass turbo* [1], a web based graphical user
interface for Overpass API.
I've always thought, that the Overpass API can be a great tool for mappers
and developers (for example for its powerfulness in data filtering).
However, there was no easy way to qu

have used Vespucci until a year ago. At that time the user interface was

without a Android device.

This is excellent - nice to see it as a hosted service now.
I don't remember how/when I stumbled on the GitHub repo, but I have been
running a local copy for a while now and find this tool indispensable. It's
great for quickly performing the many random inspections/lookups of OSM
data I find mysel
Very impressive. Nicely thought, rapid and intuitive. Plus the option to
produce a map.
