understanding is that what you produce would constitute a 'derivative
work'. You would hold the copyright to it, but the copyright of the
photo would also apply to it.

easier to detect adjacency. A renderer could be designed to not
render lines where two wooded polygons are adjacent by simply checking
if a way is part of more than one wooded multipolygon, but the
individual multipolygons would still be manageable.
