In that particular example I don't think it's needed, since it's only an entrance to the motorway (not an exit) and South Street probably doesn't need these junction tags. The tag is useful when exits are named or numbered to say there is a motorway exit at this point which such and such name and

sorry, yes – it’s lacram_telenav. The changeset that caught my eye is 67193952 I just don’t understand what they’re trying to achieve. There are gazillions of such intersections to be done if they head down this path. I see that it is a member of a relation called destination_sign (32

I don't really see the point of motorway_junction unless that exit has a name or number (ref), however it's still valid per the wiki as on nodes at which you can exit the highway, I think to avoid putting it on absolutely every intersection we should reserve it's use for highway=motorway or trunk/p

Hi. It seems pretty clear (to me at least) on the highway=motorway_junction page that the junction node should not indicate the destination, but rather on the way branching off. The examples show this situation.  - Ben. On 24/2/20 13:09, Ian Steer wrote: What do people think about this tag

I suspect this might be a mapping competence problem or possibly a problem with the editing tool rather than intent to add incorrect information. It appears to me that the intent might have been to map the area as a wood but it has been mapped also as swamp (from the nearby relation). I once

Some councils put up signs (often blue and white) indicating a cycle route. It generally shows the destination, maybe how far to the destination, and generally a picture of a bicycle. The sign might point to a road or a path. This is the best link I could find (sorry - big PDF, but it gives y
